ABOUT ME

I am a journalist and researcher passionate about improving our current understanding of the neural basis of diseases and conducting outcomes research for existing therapies. An analytical and detail-oriented mind, a constant need to learn, and strong communication skills are some of the most valuable traits I bring to the table. I am experienced in interacting with vulnerable members of the community as well as approaching situations with a critical yet open mind; this was developed as a result of my journalistic reporting experience that has proved to be invaluable when communicating with patients and other researchers. In addition, being a journalist has not only provided me a chance to hone the quality of my writing, but it has also increased my awareness of tailoring my writing to specific audiences. By becoming aware that who my readers are is just as important as the content my writing, I am able to adjust my language to better serve my audience. Through my work, I hope to improve the quality of healthcare delivered and give a voice to those in our community who are not the typical majority.
